Medicare Supplements

A Medigap policy is health insurance sold by private insurance companies to fill gaps in Original Medicare coverage. Medigap policies can help pay your share of (coinsurance, copayments, or deductibles) of the costs of Medicare-covered services. Some Medigap policies also cover certain benefits Original Medicare doesn’t cover. All Medicare Supplement Plans are standardized so it comes down to which company at what price, so it pays to go with a leader in this product line.

A Medigap or Medicare Supplement policy is health insurance sold by private insurance companies to fill gaps in original Medicare overage. Medigap policies can help pay your share of coinsurance, copayments, or deductibles of the costs of Medicare-covered services. Some Medigap policies also cover certain benefits original Medicare doesn’t cover. Medigap policies don’t cover your share of the costs under other types of health coverage, including Medicare Advantage Plans, stand-alone Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, employer/union group health coverage, Medicaid, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, or TRICARE. Insurance companies generally can’t sell you a Medigap policy if you have coverage through Medicaid or a Medicare Advantage Plan.

Several years ago all Medigap policy plans were standardized. Because of this fact when you are shopping for a Medigap policy you are generally shopping for the insurance company that is going to provide the best service and the best rates over the long haul. Because we offer several Medigap programs we are in a good position to help you select exactly the right company and exactly the right plan for you.
