OUR HISTORY

The Southeastern Insurance Group of Companies was founded by John S. Huffstetler, Sr. in 1978 with the organization of Southeastern Benefit Plans, Inc. the flagship company of the Southeastern Insurance Group. Southeastern Benefit Plans was formed to serve the needs of firms in the under 25 employee health insurance market and was one of the first to offer complete administration, including claims processing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Over the years, the success of Southeastern Benefit Plans spawned the formation of many other “Southeastern” affiliated companies which later went on to form “The Southeastern Insurance Group.”

Southeastern Brokerage Group was formed in 2007 to meet the needs of the burgeoning Senior Planning Market Place, specifically the Extended Care Planning market place as aging began to go mainstream in America. In addition to assisting families plan for their future Extended Care needs we also assist consumers with their life insurance, disability insurance, senior products and critical illness needs. Because we represent several insurance companies we are in the best position to be objective and completely focused on our client’s needs and objectives and not any one insurance company or any one insurance product solution.

OUR MANAGEMENT

Our management team has extensive experience in the Long-Term Care/ Extended Care arena as both trained professionals on the planning side, as well as, many years of experience as hands on caregivers. When it comes to Long-Term Care Planning we understand what happens when the planning meets reality. Our management team have all earned their Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designations. The CLTC designation focuses on the discipline of Extended Care Planning and Long-Term Care Insurance. We are active in and support our community, as well as, serving on the Board of Directors of our association clients.  In addition, our management team are members of and or support the excellent work of the American Association For Long-Term Care Insurance, Center for Long-Term Care Reform and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). Over many years of involvement and volunteer service, our management team has served in leadership roles at both a local and state level for NAHU (National Association of Health Underwriters) while receiving their highest honors and awards for service.

Our management team prides itself on maintaining a practice of continuing education, as well as, maintaining our professionalism and knowledge base on existing and cutting edge insurance solutions.
